We are currently recruiting for the position of Legal Counsel in our team in Montréal. We are seeking a qualified, dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team and contribute to the success of our company.
Main responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in ongoing compliance with public company/reporting issuer requirements, including continuous disclosure requirements
- Participate in monitoring of developments and elaboration of positions on a variety of public company governance issues
- Working with teams from our publicly traded operating companies, oversee the company-wide program regarding securities disclosure and regulatory compliance
- Working with compliance teams from the group companies, monitor regulatory developments and oversee regulatory compliance programs
- Draft and negotiate various commercial contracts
- Manage the drafting, implementation and periodic revision of the corporate policies and plans
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual General Meeting, as well as quarterly Board and Committee meetings
- Manage legal aspects of investments in various alternative investment vehicles
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in corporate and/or securities law in a major law firm or in-house with a public company
- Must be qualified to practice law in a Canadian province
- Perfectly bilingual (oral and written), with superior writing skills in both English and French
- Strong ethics, professionalism, integrity, and discretion
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
- Reliable, efficient, proactive, organized, autonomous, disciplined, and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a good team player
- Ability to work autonomously and manage various teams of external counsel
- Ability to manage stress during periods of intense activity
