GDF Suez, created from the 2008 merger of Suez and Gaz de France, is an international industrial and services group active across the entire energy value chain, in electricity and natural gas, upstream to downstream. Suez Environnement integrates water and waste management operations that were formerly within the scope of Suez before it merged with Gaz de France. In the Water sector, the group designs and manages drinking water production and distribution systems and wastewater treatment systems, carries out engineering work and supplies a wide range of services to industry. In the Waste sector, Suez Environnement is active in managing (collecting, sorting, recycling, treating, recovering and storing) industrial and household waste.

Since the creation of Pernod Ricard in 1975, significant organic growth and a series of acquisitions, particularly Seagram in 2001, Allied Domecq in 2005 and Vin & Sprit in 2008, have made the company the world co-leader in wines and spirits.
